Hello! I have been back home for almost one week now, but Scotland is still on my mind. And I think the colors I have chosen to dye this week will be a reflection of this. Some of the colors are still drying, and I need to photograph everything, but I can let you know that they are all earthy shades that are close to my heart. Colors that I gravitate towards in my own wardrobe. Browns, taupes, greys, greens. Pretty much all the colors that I was surrounded by in the Scottish highlands in March (apart from blue, which I realize is a color I don't dye much...this needs to change soon).
A Romantic view of Eilean Donan Castle on our way back from the Isle of Skye.
There will also be lots of Doune on Fife to knit your own Caraid shawl by my friend Lina. Caraid is the gaelic word for friend, so she designed this shawl last year to celebrate our friendship, which began at EYF 2017. One year later, we traveled from opposite sides of the world to meet in Scotland again and spend a week enjoying the festival and the highlands together. We were so lucky to get some beautiful shots of this shawl, as well as her new cowl design knit in the same yarn, which she has named "Heriot Row". This elegant little cowl was inspired by the New Town in Edinburgh, so here is Lina braving the cold in New Town after a cuppa and a scone.

The Heriot Row Cowl will be available tomorrow on Ravelry!
